The CNSE course is held over two days, expanding the knowledge acquired on the CNSA course. CNSE equips attendees with the skills required to audit an internal network as well as externally facing devices.
The course is a hands-on hacking experience, teaching the tools and techniques used by malicious intruders and experienced hackers. Each segment of the course is concluded with a countermeasures session discussing how each attack could be circumvented.

Overview:
During this fascinating two-day course, candidates will develop their learning from the CNSA course through a series of instructor led modules and hands-on labs.
Attendees will learn to attack a number of operating systems including Linux, Windows NT/2000/2003 and Solaris. This will be done through using a collection of freely available, commercial and custom tools: the CNSE toolkit. A collection of these tools will be provided in CD format for attendees to take away.
Candidates will gain the knowledge to:
- Perform security auditing using the enterprise-class tools provided
- Use advanced network mapping and application discovery techniques
- Generate Security Audit Reports
- Protect business-critical systems and information from malicious attack
All attendees will take away the CNSE Toolkit, a comprehensive collection of scanning, hacking and cracking tools that they are taught how to use on the day. This collection of commercial and custom tools is not available elsewhere.
This course is designed as a follow up to the CNSA course; therefore it is strongly recommended that candidates attend CNSA before progressing to CNSE.
