Sec-1 and CREST - Providing Assurance within the Field of Security Testing
Penetration testing is accepted as an integral part of many organisations’ network security programme. However, dispite its widespread use, there has always been a perceived lack of agreed standards and codes of practice within the industry. The Council of Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST) was created in response to this need. Sec-1’s ANSA technical team are one of the most highly skilled, exerienced and qualified groups in their field. Sec-1 are proud to be a CREST member company.

Overview
CREST was formed in response to a need within commercial marketplace for a reliable standard of assurance for both vendors and their services. CREST is a standards-based organisation for penetration testing suppliers.
Whereas ‘ethical hacker’ certifications merely provide a qualification, CREST is an industry body, supported by organisations such as CESG and CPNI. CREST’s goal is to provide a ‘kite mark’ standard of quality, providing customers with the assurance that CREST member organisations have high values of skills, ethics and standards.
